What is the Botox Procedure Like?
Botox is a non-surgical procedure that is performed on-site at our Atlanta cosmetic and reconstructive practice.
You will have a private consultation with Dr. Sethna to discuss your specific concerns as well as your goal outcome. Based on your unique circumstances, Dr. Sethna will customize a treatment plan designed to provide you with your optimal and most natural-looking outcome. She will also provide you with detailed instructions for both before and after your treatment.
Each Botox treatment session should take no more than 30-45 minutes to complete. You will simply need to undergo a series of carefully placed injections at our practice, and then you are free to resume your day as normal. Usually, no anesthetic is needed, but a topical numbing cream can be used to help minimize any discomfort during treatment. Many of our patients even just use their lunch hour for their Botox appointments.
What’s Recovery Like After Botox?
There is very little to no recovery time associated with Botox. Some numbness and bruising is to be expected, but should typically fade within the first few days and can be hidden with makeup. Most patients are able to resume their normal schedule as soon as their treatment is complete.

Botox is a great way to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but because it is an injectable treatment as opposed to surgery, its results are not permanent. In most cases, Botox can provide noticeable improvements that last for about 3-4 months. At this point, lines and wrinkles may begin to reappear, but you will likely still look younger than before your treatment.
